Hypnotherapy Sessions

A typical session will involve sitting comfortably on a chair while engaging in imagery-work. However, since the primary goal of the session is to bring about change, other means can be taken to achieve that goal - such as breathing patterning, body-awareness and more. You are always an active participant in the session, not merely a passive recipient. You will be guided into trance and be assisted in utilizing it for your own benefits. The average session time is between 60-90 minutes (initial consultation is sometimes longer than the preceding sessions). The number of sessions is based upon the program, the nature of the problem and the person. However, hypnotherapy is a goal-oriented, brief and elegant therapy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smoking is an addiction of the body.  Smoking is addiction of the brain.   A habit is formed.   A dependence created.  Memories are linked.   Sometimes happy memories.  Sometimes sad.  Sights and smells can become triggers that create a desire.  Unconscious feelings outside of our awareness play upon our thoughts.  A  mood  arises.  A sadness perhaps.  Something lost.  Something never acquired.   A trigger for nicotine.  A  need to feel whole. To feel satiated.  To feel relieved.  Smoking is a thought.  A thought that arises. Unexpectedly.  Unanticipated. Unwelcomed when examined. Smoking is an unconscious drive that lives unnoticed until it hammers a wedge into our conscious mind. There it becomes a feeling. A fear. A drive. A need.  Does it know why?  Likely not, much of the time. A childlike need for attention.   A thought becomes physical with repetition.  A physical need. Something we called pain. An addiction. Then a withdrawal.  We become aware of the harm being done to us. We  try to end this addictive hold on us.  We fail. Failure becomes guilt. Guilt is a strong self-loathing emotion.  Our smoking affliction has now tripled its already powerful ability to cause us harm and pain.

Hypnotherapy speaks to the unconscious mind. Gives us freedom from these vicious cycles.  Call it healing if you like. Some use words like cure. Hypnotherapy is a   practical and effective way of communicating with the complexities of your mind. Both the conscious and most importantly the unconscious mind.
